Proxy formats

The proxy line layouts the NyxonProxies generator exports, which tools expect which one, and how to convert a list from one format to another.

A proxy line carries four values: host, port, username and password. Tools disagree on how to write them down, so the proxy generator can export the same proxies in four layouts. Pick the one your tool asks for.

The four layouts

Layout in the generatorExample
ip:port:user:passgeo.gw.nyxon.sh:8080:USERNAME:PASSWORD
user:pass@ip:portUSERNAME:[email protected]:8080
http://user:pass@ip:porthttp://USERNAME:[email protected]:8080
socks5://user:pass@ip:portsocks5://USERNAME:[email protected]:1080

The first field is the gateway hostname, not a raw IP address, even though the layout says ip. Tools that ask for an IP accept a hostname in that place.

Every line in a list uses the same host and port. The lines differ in the username, where each one carries its own targeting and session parameters:

text
geo.gw.nyxon.sh:8080:USERNAME-country-us-session-k3x9q2ma-time-30:PASSWORD
geo.gw.nyxon.sh:8080:USERNAME-country-us-session-p7d1v8tc-time-30:PASSWORD
geo.gw.nyxon.sh:8080:USERNAME-country-us-session-w2b6n4yr-time-30:PASSWORD

Which tools want which layout

  • ip:port:user:pass is the common import format for antidetect browsers, bots and bulk proxy checkers.
  • user:pass@ip:port suits tools that have a separate protocol dropdown and want the rest in one field.
  • http:// and socks5:// URLs are what code expects: curl, Python, Node.js, Go and most HTTP libraries take a full proxy URL. Some antidetect browsers also detect the protocol from the scheme.

If a tool shows separate fields for host, port, username and password, copy them from the plan's Connection card or split a line by the colons.

Protocol and port

In the generator, choose Protocol first: HTTP or SOCKS5. It sets the port used in every line. With SOCKS5 selected on Residential, lines use port 1080 instead of 8080.

The http:// and socks5:// layouts also write the scheme into each line. Keep the scheme and the port in agreement: a socks5:// line must carry the SOCKS5 port.

Lines and download

Under Lines, pick 10, 100, 500 or 1,000 lines, or type any number up to 10,000. Copy all copies the list to the clipboard and Download .txt saves it as a text file with one proxy per line.

With rotating lines, every line is the same, because each new connection already picks a new IP. Lists matter for sticky sessions: each line carries its own session ID, so each line holds its own IP.

Converting between formats

Most tools accept at least one of the four layouts, so regenerating in the right one is the easiest fix. To convert a list you already have, a few lines of code do it:

lines = open("proxies.txt").read().split()

for line in lines:
    host, port, user, password = line.split(":", 3)
    print(f"http://{user}:{password}@{host}:{port}")

Both read host:port:user:pass lines and print http:// URLs. Usernames never contain a colon, so splitting on : is safe. The Python version keeps any colon in the password, while the shell version assumes there is none.

Special characters

If your password contains @, : or /, a URL layout breaks, because those characters have a meaning in URLs. Percent-encode them, use the ip:port:user:pass layout with a tool that has separate fields, or change the proxy password to letters and digits. See Authentication.
