Firefox

Set NyxonProxies in Firefox's own connection settings: manual HTTP proxy, the login prompt, saved credentials, SOCKS5 and sites that skip the proxy.

Firefox has proxy settings of its own, separate from the rest of the computer. That makes it the simplest way to put one browser behind NyxonProxies while every other app stays direct.

The examples use the Residential gateway, geo.gw.nyxon.sh with port 8080. Other products have their own host and port, listed in Endpoints and ports.

Set the proxy

  1. Open Firefox Settings, or type about:preferences in the address bar.
  2. Type proxy in Find in Settings.
  3. Click the button in the proxy section: Configure proxy in recent versions, Settings in older ones.
  4. In Connection Settings, select Manual proxy configuration.
  5. Enter geo.gw.nyxon.sh in HTTP Proxy and 8080 in Port.
  6. Tick Also use this proxy for HTTPS.
  7. Click OK.

Load any website. Firefox asks for the proxy's username and password and offers to save them.

Stop the login prompt

Once the credentials are saved, tick Do not prompt for authentication if password is saved in Connection Settings. Firefox then signs in to the proxy on its own and only asks again if the login fails.

Countries and sessions

Targeting and sessions go in the username:

text
USERNAME-country-gb-session-a1b2c3d4-time-30

Use a session ID for logins and checkouts, so the site sees one IP for the whole visit. To switch between countries often, FoxyProxy keeps several proxies, each with its own username. See Rotating and sticky sessions.

SOCKS5

The SOCKS fields in Connection Settings have no username or password, so they cannot sign in to the SOCKS5 port. Use the HTTP port, which carries HTTPS sites through an encrypted tunnel. If you need SOCKS5, FoxyProxy can send the credentials in Firefox.

Sites that skip the proxy

No proxy for takes a comma-separated list, such as .example.com, 192.168.1.0/24. A leading dot matches the subdomains of a domain. Firefox never sends localhost, 127.0.0.1/8 or ::1 through the proxy.

Turn it off

Select No proxy in Connection Settings, or Use system proxy settings to follow the computer's settings again.

Check the IP

Open https://ipinfo.io/json. It should show a NyxonProxies IP in the location you targeted. WebRTC can still reveal your real IP, see Check your proxy IP.
