Telegram

Connect Telegram to NyxonProxies over SOCKS5 on desktop and mobile: the proxy settings, username and password, a proxy link and keeping one IP.

Telegram has a built-in proxy setting that takes SOCKS5 with a username and password, on desktop and on phones.

The examples use the Residential gateway, geo.gw.nyxon.sh with SOCKS5 port 1080. Other products have their own host and SOCKS5 port, listed in Endpoints and ports.

Telegram Desktop

  1. Open Settings, then Advanced.
  2. Click Connection type.
  3. Click Add proxy and choose SOCKS5.
  4. Enter geo.gw.nyxon.sh in Hostname and 1080 in Port.
  5. Enter your proxy Username and Password.
  6. Click Save, and make sure Use custom proxy is selected.

The proxy list shows online when Telegram reaches the proxy and not available when it cannot.

Android

  1. Open Settings, then Data and Storage.
  2. Tap Proxy Settings.
  3. Tap Add Proxy and choose SOCKS5 Proxy.
  4. Enter geo.gw.nyxon.sh in Server, 1080 in Port, and your Username and Password.
  5. Save the proxy and turn on Use Proxy.

The steps on iPhone are similar. Telegram on phones takes SOCKS5 and MTProto proxies, so use a product with a SOCKS5 port there.

Add it with a link

Telegram opens proxy links and offers to add the proxy:

Percent-encode special characters in the password. Anyone with the link can spend your traffic, so do not share it in public.

Keep one IP

Telegram keeps its connections open for a long time and reconnects when one drops. A sticky session keeps the same IP across reconnects:

Troubleshooting

If Telegram stays on connecting, test the same login with curl:
