iPhone and iPad

Set NyxonProxies on an iPhone or iPad: the Wi-Fi proxy with authentication, keeping one IP with a session, what the setting covers and how to turn it off.

iPhone and iPad take an HTTP proxy for each Wi-Fi network, with a username and password. Safari and most apps then use it on that network.

The examples use the Residential gateway, geo.gw.nyxon.sh with port 8080. Other products have their own host and port, listed in Endpoints and ports.

Set the proxy

  1. Open Settings and tap Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap the info button next to the network you are connected to.
  3. Scroll down and tap Configure Proxy.
  4. Select Manual.
  5. Enter geo.gw.nyxon.sh in Server and 8080 in Port.
  6. Turn on Authentication and enter your proxy Username and Password.
  7. Tap Save.

Keep one IP

Phones open many connections, and on a rotating username each one can get another IP, so sites may sign you out. Put a session in the username:

text
USERNAME-country-us-session-a1b2c3d4-time-60

The IP holds for the time you set, up to 120 minutes. Change the session ID for a new IP. See Rotating and sticky sessions.

What it covers

  • One Wi-Fi network. The setting belongs to the network you configured. Other networks and mobile data connect directly.
  • HTTP only. There is no SOCKS option, so use the HTTP port.
  • Most apps. Safari and most apps follow the proxy, but an app can choose to connect directly.

Turn it off

Go back to Configure Proxy and select Off.

Check the IP

Open https://ipinfo.io/json in Safari. It should show a NyxonProxies IP, not your own. If pages stop loading after you save, check the server, port, username and password, and that the login belongs to the product of the host.
