Free proxy checker
Paste up to 10 proxies and see which ones work. For each: HTTP or SOCKS5, the response time, the IP it exits from and where that IP is.
- free

- runs on our server
Credentials go to our server for this check only. They are never stored or logged.
How it works
From our server, through your proxy.
The checker connects to each proxy from our server and fetches an IP echo through it: a page that answers with the address it was reached from. When the answer comes back, the proxy works, and the address in it is the proxy's exit IP.
Auto mode tries HTTP first and SOCKS5 when the port does not answer as an HTTP proxy. A scheme in the line, like socks5://, settles it. The echo is fetched over HTTPS, so a proxy that tampers with encrypted traffic fails the check instead of passing it.
Response time is the time to the first answer through the proxy, measured from our server. From your machine it will differ, so compare proxies with each other rather than reading it as your speed.
- Reads
host:port:user:pass,user:pass@host:port,user:pass:host:portand URLs. - Up to 10 proxies per check, all tested at the same time.
- Each failure says why: wrong credentials, closed port, timeout or the wrong protocol.
- Credentials are used for the check and never stored or logged.
- Only public addresses: a proxy on your local network cannot be reached from the internet.
Questions
Yes. It is free and needs no account. To keep it fast for everyone, each address can run a few checks a minute, with up to 10 proxies in each.
HTTP proxies, including the ones you reach over TLS with https://, and SOCKS5 proxies, with or without a username and password. SOCKS4 is not supported. In Auto mode the checker tries HTTP first and SOCKS5 next.
Most often the proxy authorises by IP: it accepts your address and nothing else, so a check from our server is refused. Add the username and password instead, or test it from your own machine. A proxy on your own network, like 192.168.x.x, cannot be reached from the internet at all.
It is measured from our server, through the proxy, to the test page. Your own time depends on how far you are from the proxy and on your connection. Use it to compare proxies with each other, not as the speed you will get.
No. The list and the credentials are used for the check and then dropped. They are not saved, not logged and not sent anywhere except to the proxy itself.
Run curl -x http://user:pass@host:port https://api.ipify.org in a terminal. It prints the IP the proxy exits from, or an error that says why the proxy refused.
