Proxifier
Route any Windows or macOS app through NyxonProxies with Proxifier: add the proxy, pick HTTPS or SOCKS version 5, set the default rule and check the connection.
Proxifier sends the connections of any app through a proxy, including apps with no proxy setting and apps that cannot sign in to one. It handles the username and password itself.
The examples use the Residential gateway, geo.gw.nyxon.sh, with port 8080 for HTTP and 1080 for SOCKS5. Other products have their own host and ports, listed in Endpoints and ports.
Add the proxy
- Open Profile, then Proxy Servers, or use the toolbar button.
- Click Add.
- Enter
geo.gw.nyxon.shas Address and8080as Port. - Choose HTTPS as the protocol.
- Enter your proxy username and password in the authentication fields.
- Click OK. Proxifier asks whether to use this proxy by default. Click Yes.
Proxifier's HTTPS type is an HTTP proxy that opens tunnels to any port, which is what the gateway's HTTP port does. Its HTTP type only carries plain HTTP connections, so do not use it for the gateway.
For SOCKS5, choose SOCKS version 5 with port 1080.
Choose which apps use it
As the target of the Default rule, the proxy carries every new connection while Proxifier runs. To proxy only some apps, open Proxification Rules, set the Default rule to a direct connection and add a rule that sends the apps you choose to NyxonProxies.
Sessions
Every connection an app opens goes to the gateway on its own, and on a rotating username each one can leave from another IP. For apps that should keep one IP, put a session in the username:
USERNAME-country-us-session-a1b2c3d4-time-60See Rotating and sticky sessions.
Check the connection
Select the proxy in Proxy Servers and click Check to test it in Proxifier's proxy checker. Then open https://ipinfo.io/json in an app that Proxifier routes. It should show a NyxonProxies IP.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| The check fails | The protocol matches the port: HTTPS for 8080, SOCKS version 5 for 1080. Then the username and password. |
| An app still shows your own IP | The rules: the app must match a rule that targets the proxy. |
| Timeouts | Whether a firewall blocks the port. |
